Desktop app ยท coming soon
Become your own speaking coach.
A desktop app for people who already know English but can't yet say what they think. Record yourself, review it three ways, then say it again and hear the difference.
Your recordings never leave your computer.
Sound familiar?
- I understand everything, but when I speak, I freeze.
- I know the word. It just isn't there when I need it.
- I start a sentence and can't find my way to the end.
- I fill every gap with "um" and "like".
You don't need more grammar. You need to speak, and a way to hear what you actually say.
How it works
-
Pick a topic
Choose a real-life topic, like explaining your job or telling a story. Working on your accent? Pick a passage to read aloud.
-
Record 60 to 90 seconds
Talk to the camera as you would to a person. You don't have to watch yourself while you talk: the preview stays hidden. Short enough to repeat, long enough to show your habits.
-
Review it three ways
-
Listen with your eyes closed
Without the picture, you hear what other people hear: fillers, long pauses and sounds that come out wrong.
The app helps: Tap a key whenever you hear a slip. Then check your ear against the pauses the app measured.
-
Watch it on mute
Without the sound, you see what other people see: how your mouth moves, where you look and what your hands do.
The app helps: Slow it down and work through a short checklist: eyes, hands, mouth.
-
Type what you said
Writing it down shows what listening hides: restarts, unfinished sentences and vague words like "thing" and "stuff".
The app helps: Playback pauses while you type. Tag what you find, then rewrite it the way you meant it.
-
-
Say it again, then compare
Record the same topic straight away. Then put both takes side by side: how long they ran, where you paused and what you tagged. Play the same moment in each and hear the improvement for yourself.
The pictures show an early design. The app may look different at launch.
Keep improving
-
See your progress
A private journal of your takes. Your own tags show which habits keep coming back, and your first take sits next to today's.
-
Working on your accent?
Read a passage aloud, then compare it with a model recording. Ear training helps with sounds your first language doesn't have, because you can't fix a sound you can't hear yet.
Not another app that tells you what's wrong
Most speaking apps listen, score you and list your mistakes. That helps until you close the app. Fluency Lab trains the skill underneath: noticing your own mistakes. It keeps working in every conversation, meeting and interview.
Private by design
Your videos are recorded and kept on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded. Optional AI checks may come later, as a final step you choose, never as a replacement for your own review.
Questions
Who is it for?
People who already know English, often after years of study, but don't speak as easily as they understand. It isn't a course for beginners.
Does it use AI?
Not to judge you. The method is self-review: you learn to find your own mistakes. Optional AI checks may come later as a final step, never instead of your own review.
Where do my recordings go?
Nowhere. Your videos are recorded and kept on your own computer.
Do I have to be on camera?
No. You can start with audio only and add video when you're ready.
When can I try it?
We're building it now. Join the waitlist and you'll be among the first to hear when it's ready.
Is everything on this page final?
No. We're still building it, so details may change. People on the waitlist hear first.
Be the first to try it
